i think zack is finally starting to get used to and even like having penny around. today, he couldn't resist giving her "hugs" as she sat in her bouncy seat...

consolation prize...

poor zack -- he was supposed to go help his pal nate celebrate his 2nd birthday last week. instead, he was home with pink eye and an upset tummy. as bummed as he was to miss it, he was thrilled when mom came home with the party favor, which included a big green balloon. it's amazing what a balloon can do to a 17-month old's spirits (and what about that hair??....i think a haircut is in order soon!)

sunday dinner

this past sunday, grampy and nonnie (who were lined up to babysit in case mom and dad decided to go to the duke/bc basketball game) came over for a nice sunday dinner. zack wasn't feeling the best, so he was reluctant to pose for photos...

it's taken a while, but mom and dad finally put the finishing touches on the laundry room makeover. with boots, hats, scarves, mittens, etc all stashed away in the new cubbies that grampy built in the closet, we all now have a nice place to hang out coats (or towels and bathing suits if i dare to dream...)

be ours

penny and zack had a wonderful valentine's day together! we kick-started the festivities by decorating cupcakes with friends at a friday afternoon playdate. then, we all enjoyed a special valentine's day breakfast at a diner, and then the kids finished it all off with three-hour naps (zack and penny's gift to mom and dad)! and to make the day even more special, penny is a whopping 3 months old now!

silent but yucky..

little penny's been quite the trooper...we recently discovered she's been dealing with "silent reflux" for a while (unlike your average, run-of-the-mill reflux, this one burns on the way up and then heads back down...burning on the way down as well) and it is supposed to be pretty darn painful. penny has shed more than a few tears over it, but when not in pain, is still her dainty, cheerful self. gotta love her.

there's nothing like getting 2 kids packed up, bundled up and ready for a playdate when it's in the teens out. they look about as excited as I do about all the snow we've gotten this winter.
