musical chairs

zack has officially been kicked out of his highchair by penny, who is now enjoying such delicacies as rice cereal and pureed bananas.  zack is still getting used to his new "big boy chair".  change is hard, zack, we understand.

franklin cafe

today, zack and penny headed to boston, where we enjoyed a brunch with mom and dad's friends marika and chris.  a group shot would have been nice, however, mom's hands were quite full with a certain little girl who insisted on being held the entire time...

teeth for two?

zack and his gal pal madeleine got cozy on the "big boy chair" during our playdate today.  i think they must have been swapping stories about their latest teeth coming in...

lunch with his ladies

zack and penny had lunch at sepracor today and let me tell you, he was a HIT with the ladies in nonnie's office.  (sorry to theresa for the terrible photography skills on my part...)

wacky sprinkler

zack had his first experience with a sprinkler this past week.  i can't honestly say he loved it, but he seemed mildly interested (he's the reserved one in the hat in case it's not obvious)...

because she's so darn pretty...

visit from auntie tara

auntie tara came up on wednesday to spend some quality time with the little keenans (and mom).  we went to tangerini's farm to get some ice cream and buy plants for the garden.  zack checked out the goats and the chickens checked him and penny out.  these chickens don't seem chicken of anyone!

penny's first bite of food

at her six month appointment today, penny got the green light to try some baby food, starting with rice cereal (she's a bit delayed because of the family history of allergies...)  she seemed to enjoy it, but zack did not like that she was getting all of the attention....

how zack recycles

zack was given this super cool recycling truck by his friend madeleine (well, by her mom melissa, technically...). made of squishy nerfy material, the truck fit perfectly in his small hands.  the day he got it, he held it all day long and even took it to bed with him (literally, we'd look at the video monitor and there he was, sound asleep grasping the truck).

when he woke in the morning, we noticed two of the wheels were mysteriously missing. when mom asked him "zack, what happened to the truck?", zack replied "eat. wheels"   ...so much for that all-organic diet!

half a dozen

penny, we've had the greatest time with you so far.  happy half-birthday, my beauty!

mom was lucky enough to get a new laptop this month and is excited to experiment making different videos etc.  i'm sure you'll be sick and tired of these before long.  without further ado, here's my first attempt slideshow:  highlights from your sixth month with us:

mom day

happy mother's day to my mom and all the other wonderful moms out there. or as zack states so simply: "mom day" zack, mom & penny -- nope, we'll never get a picture together where everyone is looking...

slow down, penny!

apparently, penny hasn't gotten the memo that she is way too young to be wanting to stand up already. please, penny, don't grow up too quickly!

cozy, comfy bunny rabbit slippers

poor penny has been serioulsy under the weather the fast few days (mom & zack not feeling so hot either...) though coughing, sneezing, and being up all hours of the night isn't fun, it is the perfect excuse to wear your favorite bunny slippers...

see ya later, alligator.

tonight, penny will be spending her first night in her own room (yes, she's been sleeping in her crib in our room this whole time....crazy but true). mom and dad are actually a little bit sad...her room seems so far away!
night night, penny...and thanks to auntie carey for the supercute gator sweater!

p.f. chang's

the keenans enjoyed lunch at p.f. chang's today -- and they were super accommodating with allergies, giving a printout of all nut-free menu items and using separate woks / plates for customers with allergies. two thumbs up!
