zack and penny signed their names on a birthday card this past weekend. i love these wiggly, unsure letters. i mean, i hope they get better, but i love them :-)

what a difference 2 years make

for a while now, we've been heading up to children's hospital for penny's laser treatments to lighten her port wine stain. after 8 or 9 treatments, she's pretty much done! it's looking like a once-a-year maintenance treatment will be enough. check out the difference!

thanks so so so so much to meme, papa, grampy and nonnie (and of course, esther & jenn) for all helping out so that tim and i could get away for a few nights. the turks and caicos was absolutely perfect. it was a repeat of a trip we did two years ago and it is just the thing to break up a blah winter.

first haircut!

today, penny is exactly 3 years, 3 months old. what better way to celebrate than to get your first haircut!? i didn't know it was possible for hair to grow this slowly, but at this rate, we're saving some big bucks on haircuts. honestly, i can't say there's much of a difference, but there wasn't much to work with. :-)

the snuggly blanket

my mom gave us a super comfy throw for christmas and it's quickly become a family favorite. in fact, zack loves it so much he's asked meme to make him one of his own. the sweet little guy thinks she made it! he's even said "i love meme because she made this snuggly favorite blanket". he's requested that she make one in the same color and same size. guess what she got him for valentines day?? (i mean, made....shhhh!)

wondering what an average day is like in the keenan house? well, in case you are, it may go something like this: this is an actual arguement the kids just had but the subject changes daily.

zack (to penny): "what's your name?"

penny: "penny."

zack: "your name is tom brady"

penny: "no it ant!"

zack: "yes it is!"

penny: "no. it's penny!"

zack (with attitude, whining): "no, you're tom brady!!"

penny: "NO I ANT!!!!"

whining, tears, crying, screaming. the end.

holly shiftwell

did you know that zack got a fish for his 4th birthday and he named her holly shiftwell? (i don't have to tell moms of young boys that this is a character from Cars 2). yeah, his birthday back in september. old news! anyhow, this is holly in case you haven't met her. she is feisty!
